Peschiera del Garda, the ancient Roman Acrylic, preserves rich testimonies of its history that still offers the curious visitor to discover the signs of man's work. Alongside defensive and military architecture, there are civil and religious buildings, such as the sixteenth-century Sanctuary of the Madonna del Frassino, a pilgrimage destination for thousands of believers. But in addition to all this, Peschiera offers moments of peace and relaxation in the natural environment that surrounds it, as in the oasis of the lake of Frassino or in the valley of Mincio, along which develops the park of the same name that offers countless opportunities for walks in contact with unspoiled nature and lush.
The stretch of land from Peschiera to the Sirmione peninsula is called "Lugana", known for the production of the homonymous wine. It is one of the very first Italian wines to be awarded the D.O.C. mark. (since 1967), Lugana wine can be particularly matched with some typical dishes of the Garda tradition such as "Bigoli con le sarde", "Sarde in saor" and risotto with tench.
